So, 15 minutes later, we spent $8.30 on two pieces of banana bread and a can of softdrink, equating to over 2 days worth of food each next week. This is the cheapest lunch possible to buy on campus.
An interesting perspective on the matter. Our loose change which we spend without a second thought is used by millions each day purely to survive on.
About Live Below the Line
Scott Walsh and Hannah Degotardi have taken on the task of living of $2 per day from May 16th - 20th for all food and drink. 1.4 billion people live on $2, and they make it go much further then just food and drink.
We are living in poverty, for poverty. All proceeds go to the Oaktree Foundation, to help the recently opened school in PNG stay in operation. Kids from Yangis haven't had access to a school or education in over 20 years, until the Oaktree Foundation established a school.
